How We Review Slots
How we review slots at Bonanza Billion. This page describes the process our editorial team uses for every slot review on this site, including the Bonanza Billion review on the homepage. We publish it openly so players can judge how seriously we take accuracy, independence, and player safety.
1. Sourcing the specs
Every review starts with the developer's own paytable and game-info panel. For Bonanza Billion that means BGaming's published RTP, hit-frequency, and volatility figures. Where we report a number, we have either pulled it from the in-game info panel of a live build or from BGaming's primary documentation. We do not copy specs from other review sites.
Where slot studios ship multiple RTP variants (Bonanza Billion has four: 96.00%, 95.97%, 94.00%, 92.00%), we list each variant explicitly so players can verify what their operator has loaded.
2. Live testing the game
Before a review goes live, at least one editor plays the slot at a real-money operator for a minimum of 500 base spins, plus a minimum of 5 triggered Free Spins rounds (or the equivalent purchased through a Buy Bonus). We log:
Average loss/win swing per 100 spins at the minimum bet
Time-to-trigger for the bonus round across multiple sessions
Mobile vs desktop rendering performance
Behaviour of in-game features (Buy Bonus pricing, Chance x2 effect, autoplay rules)
3. Scoring
Every slot is rated on a 5-point scale across five sub-criteria, then averaged into the headline editorial score:
| Criterion | What we measure | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Math & RTP | Declared RTP, variance, hit frequency, max win ceiling | 25% |
| Bonus features | Free Spins quality, multiplier mechanics, Buy Bonus value | 25% |
| Volatility fit | Whether the volatility matches the advertised play style | 15% |
| UX & mobile | Performance, layout, autoplay controls, accessibility | 20% |
| Theme & presentation | Visual identity, audio, replay value | 15% |
4. Operator selection
When we list "best casinos" for a slot, we filter operators by:
Valid licence from a recognised regulator (UKGC for UK-licensed sites; MGA, Curacao, Kahnawake or other Tier-1 regulators for non-UK-licensed operators that still serve UK players)
The slot is hosted at the highest available RTP variant
Independent RNG/RTP audit from eCOGRA, GLI, iTech Labs or BMM Testlabs
Active responsible-gambling tools (deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs, GamStop integration where applicable)
Bonus terms with wagering at or below 35x
Clear, withdrawable T&Cs without predatory clauses
5. Updates and corrections
Every slot review is reviewed at least once every 6 months and updated whenever:
The developer changes the RTP, volatility, or feature set
An operator we recommend loses its licence or changes its bonus terms materially
A reader reports a factual error (we accept correction requests at [email protected])
The "Last reviewed" date at the top of each review reflects the most recent editorial review, not just a content tweak.
6. Independence and disclosure
This site participates in affiliate partnerships with operators we recommend. Affiliate income does not change the editorial score, the order of operator rankings, or the inclusion criteria. Operators cannot pay to be added to a list, and we will remove operators that fall below the criteria above regardless of the commercial relationship. The full disclosure is on our Editorial Policy page.
7. What we do not do
We do not publish "system" articles, betting strategies, or claims that any sequence of bets can beat negative-expectation games.
We do not target self-excluded players, minors, or jurisdictions where online gambling is restricted.
We do not auto-generate content. Every review is written and signed off by a human editor.
Questions about a specific review? Email us at [email protected]. We log every correction request and reply within 5 working days.
